Congratulations to Sharon Smith, one of our Executive Directors, who has recently been voted onto the Editorial Board of the Journal of Psychopharmacology - a fully peer-reviewed, international journal publishing original scientific papers and reviews on preclinical and clinical psychopharmacology. Sharon has more than 25 years of research and development experience gained from working in pharmaceutical and biotech companies and contract research organisations. Her core expertise lies in the discovery and development of new drugs to treat psychiatric and neurological disorders. Sharon has worked extensively on the development of innovative experimental models to more accurately predict the abuse liability of novel compounds and to assess the therapeutic potential of new treatments for substance use disorders. Her invitation to join the Editorial Board of the Journal of Psychopharmacology reflects her extensive experience in preclinical psychopharmacology as exemplified by numerous publications in this area and by acting as co-editor of four Special Issues of Neuropharmacology.
