The Special Issue of the Journal of Psychopharmacology in tribute to Dr Roland R Griffiths is now out in print. Dr Griffiths was Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Neurosciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, and founding Director of the Johns Hopkins Centre for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research, the first psychedelic research centre in the States. He was internationally renowned for his pioneering work on psychedelics and mood-altering drugs. His groundbreaking studies played a pivotal role in the global resurgence of interest in the medical use of psychedelic drugs.
The Special Issue commences with a tribute to the remarkable life of Roland Griffiths written by his many scientific friends and colleagues. It summarises his contributions to neuropharmacology and psychiatry and to the neurobehavioural and therapeutic effects of psychedelics.
